What your trotters need
Serious About Feet
Your feet are as unique as your face.
Our trotters are the foundation of the body and they must be stable and balanced in order to support all of the body’s weight. Bad foot support can cause discomfort or pain in the feet, knees, hips, lower back and even the neck and shoulders. In order to alleviate these problems, you need footwear that provides proper foot support. SeaPigs are serious about feet because they are essential to protect our trotters and are vital to our health and well-being,
Let’s get Serious About Feet
The SeaPigs Drifters 4 Layer Sole Technology allows the foot to be adequately supported, while also allowing the foot the freedom to adapt and mould to the Drifters.
The technology was developed with the help of medical experts, footwear designers and good old fashioned common sense.
The arch of the foot is the area that requires the most support and is vital to handle the pressure exerted on it. The arch of the foot bears most of the pressure and the arch height varies greatly from one person to another. It is essential that the arch support makes full, firm contact with the arch of the foot, to relieve pressure on the heel.
Footwear must fit well
If the sole of the footwear does not stay firmly connected to your trotters when moving, then the foot will not be stable or aligned. The means of connecting the foot to the sole is imperative for comfortable and supportive footwear.
The heel needs added cushioning and it should be raised, it also requires a deep heel cut to provide support, alignment and stability.
LAYERS OF CUSHIONING
Adequate cushioning helps prevent foot fatigue and provides foot support by providing alignment and stability.
METATarsaL ARCH SUPPORT
The secondary arch of the foot is at the toes and this must also be supported, this will relieve pressure on the balls of the feet.
